A former Planet Fitness location in the Northeast Heights will soon welcome a new gym concept.

Ironverse will occupy the approximately 15,000-square-foot former Planet Fitness space in the
El Dorado Square at 11200 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Ironverse owner and founder Josh Vance said.

Vance will hold a grand opening for the gym Dec. 6, he said

Ironverse is a gym with a serious training environment for people ready to push their limits and achieve real results, Vance said.

The new space will be home to a curated mix of new classic pieces, brand new pieces and used, old-school equipment that’s no longer manufactured, he added.

The gym will also have group exercise classes, cold plunges, a private infrared sauna, integrated sound therapy and a posing room.

Ironverse will feature Gymleco, Arsenal Strength and Hammer Strength equipment, among others, Vance said.

“Whether you’re an athlete, professional, retired or just beginning, we plan to give all our members all the tools to accomplish anything they want to with the fitness world,” Vance said.

The gym signed a five-year lease for the former Planet Fitness location, Vance said. He declined to disclose the gym’s lease payment.

Vance represented himself in the deal for the space, and the landlord also represented themselves, Vance said.

Ironverse’s lease for the former Planet Fitness space materialized after deals for the old Sports Authority at Cottonwood Mall and another deal at the El Dorado Square fell through, Vance said

Vance believes Ironverse’s model will succeed in Albuquerque because it focuses on growth and skill, and because other gyms in similar-sized markets have had success with this model.

“Albuquerque doesn’t even know what it’s missing out on yet,” Vance said. “It’s that new era of fitness. All there is in Albuquerque are corporate gyms, boutique gyms or aging gyms. This is definitely something there’s a demand for, and I can’t wait to show the community what I’ve been working so hard on.”

Ironverse is currently running its founder’s promotion, which offers no start- up fee and a reduced membership fee

The gym will be open 24/7.
